Hello friends! Welcome to the Shared Hope International travel blog. On July 16 we will travel to the Village of Hope in Mumbai India to celebrate the 10th anniversary of brining girls from bondage to joy! It is like a family reunion… celebrating 10 years of being together. Upon her first visit to India in 1998, Congresswoman Linda Smith founded Shared Hope International to rescue and restore women and children in crisis… all over the world!
So many girls who were once enslaved by the commercial sex trade are now restored and embraced by the knowledge that they are loved. Over the years, there have been new marriages and babies born; lives that were once bought and sold by the hour, now know that their value is beyond any worldly price.
A few members of the Shared Hope International team will travel back to India with Linda . This is no ordinary site visit, but a Journey Home to the place where our story began- one decade ago. I have the honor and pleasure of inviting you to join us on the Journey.
We would like to take you along… no passport required… just come to this website and we will share the experience with you. You will see the smiles, hear the stories and share the boundless joy of the women and girls we serve each day… these are the women and girls who have come to be connected to your heart though your ongoing support of our work.
We are leading the effort to eradicate sexual slavery thanks to your support, so won’t you please come along? Join us on the Journey Home to India by visiting this travel blog frequently.

Thank you for the lives you are helping to be restored… Great is your reward, because you love. The girls in our care at Vision Makers know first hand the benefits of your love and your kindness extended. We will reach many more and restore hope where it has been trampled by circumstances. Thank you, Linda and the Shared Hope team. You are blessed!
Comment by Christina July 12, 2008 @ 1:43 amThis is great, although how do I subscribe to the blog? I may not remember to check back on a daily basis…
God bless your efforts for the “least of these”…

This is great! When we came to Sharing the Hope Weekend in November 2005, with my 2 daughters and 2 sons, we asked if we could go to India to help someday. This is exciting to be able to come along with you via this blog. God Bless your team, and go before you to protect you and give you everything you need to do the work.
Comment by Sandy Stephens July 12, 2008 @ 7:23 amMuch luck and joy to you on your return journey to where all of your profound efforts started. It gives me such great joy to see all that you are experiencing as you see what God has done through your hearts and hands at Shared Hope!!!
Comment by Elaine Snow July 22, 2008 @ 10:06 pmI thank the GOOd LORD JESUS for each child, girl, woman, teen that you are able to rescue. Mya your ministry be increased to 1000%more! We need to reach the poor families, so they will not be tempted to “sell” their little girls into such a horrid life. We need to post signs that warn such evil men that they MUST “Repent of this sin (harming God’s little ones) OR Perish in hell.” Use Scripture verses. God’s Word never returns to Him void, but WILL Accomplish that which He sent IT to do! I have some comic tracts in several India language dialects. Please send me an oversees’ address, with the language they need, and I will send them some Christian tracts, free of charge. God Bless and Protect your ministry. acm
Comment by Ann C. Martin July 23, 2008 @ 4:45 pmDear Linda, Am hanging on every word as you describe your travels. As the once-baby, now young woman danced and you cried, I felt like I was with you in the room. Far away in Stuart, Florida you know your partners (Soroptimist International of Stuart) are sending our support, and continuing the work to help Shared Hope build a Home of Hope in Negril, Jamaica. Love, Margaret
